Have you ever been truly satisfied with the quality or your robot figures in the past?
Why keep buying figures that don’t deliver on the quality you demand?
Learn about the one company that promises to delver!
The GN-U [DOU] is must-have for your collection!
We have been hearing tons of complaints through distributors and retailers until the introduction of the GN-U [DOU]. We analyzed the most common complaints from distributors and retailers.

(1) Is it expensive?
(2) Does it have poor articulation?
(3) Is it better than past figures?

Perhaps you have the same questions and complaints yourselves.
▲Here’s our response to your complaints one by one
The origin of GN-U [DOU]
(1)Born directly from the voices of the collectors
4 years ago GN-U [DOU] was developed directly from the voices of countless surveyed collectors.
YAMATO continually analyzed in depth its fully transformable MACROSS series and its 1/12 VOTTOMS series.
Once the collectors were satisfied with the designs being on model, the next point was the best size and price.
(2)YAMATO’s top challenges
(i) The development of faithfully accurate, fully articulated on model designs for Anime and MANGA figures.
(ii) The coolest models use the best surface lines for mecha figures and constructing them with pride and respect.

(3)What was YAMATO’s response?
To present models those were reproduced on model faithfully but at an affordable price and dynamic size.
This was the birth of GN-U. Within this birth came for major conclusions.
Faithful reproduction of mecha characters, Coolness, Best size and Best price
1/60 YF-21 Knee with YAMATO's Double Jointed and Sliding Parts Features. These features have been possible previously due to the larger scales.
Difficulties Accumulated
(1)Size Vs. Articulation
The first problem was the issue of size.
The first problem was the issue of size. Our aim was to make a 13-15cm figure that was easily accessible for collectors.
However, it wasn't an easy task to maintain this these proportions without sacrificing faithful reproduction and "coolness".
There was the dillema of adhering to regulation resin thickness without sacrificing our specialty features of double jointed and sliding parts while developing a faithfully reproduced models.
(2)Quality Vs. Price
It was a matter of passion for quality versus an accessible price for our customers. From our surveys we learned that the average collector's price range of comfort was \2000 - \3000.
Precise parts and sharp edges were of the utmost importance and was not a quality negotiable for sacrifice.
Therefore ABS remained as our main material and not PVC. Designs had to be developed within a CAD environment. Neither of these were compromisable points. Due to the nature of ABS material, this would increase the number of parts due to the increase of cast molds to accomodate the material's texture. PVC can create a whole mold at once, however, ABS, due to it's harder material will create the need to make more separate parts due to it's density. The use of CAD designs increases the cost as well as development time. The essence of the collector's passion for quiality became YAMATO's passion for quality.
▲99 parts are used for this model alone.
▲This is a 3-D schematic of our most new work produced by with ABS. The excessive number of parts needed in the faithful reproduction of one leg alone can be clearly seen.
This resulted in an excessive number of parts and a snowballing overbudget production.
